Slinky Strip Installation

1.  Secure vehicle, and remove springs.

2.  Once spring pack is off, clamp spring pack on both sides of the centering pin.  This relieves the pressure on the original center pin.  Once the spring pin is removed gradually loosen the clamp.  This will prevent the springs from flying apart.

3.  Now, clean springs, check for scoring and repaint if necessary.

4.  Strips are ready to install.  Simply, place them between the leaves allowing approximately 1 inch extension on either side and begin to compress the pack together with the clamps.

5.  The strips are cut in the same length.  Because of various spring types, you will need to cut some shorter to accomodate your springs.  We have had best success cutting with an electric saw, although tin snips will work.

6.  When the spring pack is reassembled, the center hole should be aligned.  This hole will need to be opened.  A drill works great for this job.

7.  With hole cleaned, reinstall spring center pin and tighten.  The spring pin will aply enough pressure that you can remove the clamps.

8.  The spring will need to be trimmed.  The spring pin should stick out just past the nut, cut it off there.

9.  Reinstall springs and enjoy.
